Transmission:
Transmission is by ingestion of infective larvae. Disease risk is determined by factors influencing the susceptibility of the host, the numbers of infective larvae accumulating on pastures and the numbers of larvae undergoing hypobiosis. Calves are more prone to this.

Hypobiosis:
Adaptive mechanism is according to favourable environment.

Signs:

  • Weight loss

  • Low production

  • Diarrhea

Treatment:
Ivermectin: 0.2 mg/Kg, albendazole: 10 mg/Kg, levamisole: 5.5-11 mg/Kg
