It
is complete inversion of uterus. It is post partum prolapse.
Causes

Main indication is hypocalcaemia

Prolong dystocia

Fetal traction

Retained fetal membrane

Chronic diseases

Sometime aversion after parturition

Mostly it occurs in pleuriparous animals during May-October. Its
chances are also more in stud animals as compared to grazing
animals.
Clinical Signs:
-
Recumbent animal
-
Uterine tissues, edematous, enlarged and contaminated with fetus
-
Placenta may remain attached to endometrium
-
Weakness or depression
-
Subnormal temperature
-
Anxiety
-
Struggling and comma
-
These all signs are produced due to hypocalcemia
Treatment:
-
Apply wet towel to prevent from drying
-
Wash prolapse part with normal saline
-
Apply non irritant antiseptics as bernol
-
Place prolapced part back
-
1-2 ml oxytocin then repeat after 6-8 hours
-
Ca therapy
-
Parental and also intrauterine administration of antibiotics
-
Fluid therapy
