fetus is causative agent. It is present in male reproductive tract.
It can live for years here. Female can live as carrier for 22 days.
Source of infection is mating. Abortion occurs from 2-4 month.
Urethra, prepuceal cavity, persistence of disease leads to
inflammation of accessory sex glands. It is not a zoonotic problem.
In
female there is frothy vaginal discharge (grey to green color),
vaginitis by itching that also leads to pain during urination.
Animal will strain during urination. There is bad smell from
discharge. There will be fresh bleeding after mating due to lesions.
In
male there is burning and irritation at the time of urination and
ejaculation. There is inflammation of glans, prepuce and scrotum.
There is pus like yellowish discharge from urethra.
Diagnosis:
Prepuceal washing. Examination of vaginal discharge.
Treatment:
Prepuceal flushing by PBS along with antibiotics and corticosteroids
Control:
A.I
should be done. Control mating.
